  2. "To assist students in learning the key themes, it is helpful to use conspicuous strategies (teaching students how to approach learning), mediated scaffolding - using supports to introduce skills and concepts and gradually removing those supports when they are no longer needed by the students - and ensuring that instruction is tied to background knowledge." (Assistive Technology, pg. 42)

  3. As Oprah would say -
    What I Know For Sure

    - Diversity is the Norm, not the exception
Design to meet the greatest number of needs from the outset
    - All students vary in response to instruction . . .
    - Effective differentiation includes identifying and implementing research-based practices that are effective for all students

  6. Suzanna and Julia say:

Where does an under-funded, under-appreciated public school teacher begin? "The comprehensiveness of the universal design framework can overwhelm even the most ambitious school leaders." p. 59 Universal Design: Accessibility for all Learners

-"With UDL, the teacher, who is familiar with the abilities of the class, has a tool box os instructional methods from which she can produce the right tool for the right job."-p.42 Chapter 4 AT
