Julia and Suzanna say: - iphoto - ilab - word processing program for students with challenges in mechanics of writing - graphing calculators to investigate functions -internet for research purposes -design flash cards, worksheets, tests using Access 4
I always like the idea of technology, but i wasn't always ready for it. Not just because I didn't have access, but the to be in the mind-frame to commit to its use. One seemed to follow the other I noticed,as once I realized how to use it, I found it available everywhere. My field study has quickly morphed into including technology into my program. Once I realized its effects, I found the students so much more engaged, as well as myself.
My new favorite is Clicker 5. It has enabled my students to write independently, which for them is a feat which would normally take years of preparation.
I admit technology is overwhelming beyond belief, I have found it manageable by looking at pieces at a time. I started with Board-maker, and moved to Inspirations, this year its Clicker. I cant see myself without it.
Still, however I will continue to ask Santa for a Smart Board....
We are using the internet for research purposes, google search engine, KidPix, the districts websites (the dog to get access to different games), itunes and Ipods for listening/singing to, a digital camera, class website etc.
